Ann-Margaret-KITTEN WITH A WHIP (1964)

I posted about this movie last night but it disappeared! Maybe it was related to the issues with Tumblr. Anyway I can’t recall what I said in particular about juvenile delinquency but here’s the poster and a couple of screencaps that I liked:

Jayne Mansfield c. 1964 (via)

Now that I’m finally on Instagram I started following Paris Hilton and all it does is serve to remind me that she’s blatantly a weak and bad imitation of who came before her.

The Silent Movie Theatre cameos in Carl Reiner’s excellent THE COMIC (1969)

Whoa, I wish I’d spotted this when I saw this movie at The New Beverly awhile back (Cinefamily and the New Bev are the two best movie theaters in L.A. ♥♥♥). This movie has moved up to the top of my Most Underrated Films list, everyone should check it out.

One of my life goals is a genuine vintage Hilda calendar. Notice that she’s a dog lover as well as a total babe ♥

June 27, 2013: A Tribute To Roger Ebert featuring Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, Erica Gavin and Chaz Ebert at the Saban Theatre

This was so fun! Clearly a lot of the audience had never seen the happening freakout that is Beyond the Valley of the Dolls so while it was fun to hear them react it was also nice to hear that someone in my row was singing along with the songs same as I was. My only disappointment was that they didn’t bring the special guests in the audience up on stage for a round of applause so we didn’t get to see Dolly Reed/Martin (who’s in the picture above with Chaz Ebert) or Erica Gavin, Kitten Natividad or Stu Phillips even though they were there. Chaz Ebert did give a brief but lovely speech though so that was wonderful. RIP Mr. Ebert, you are missed by many!

‘Kitten with a Whip’ - 1964 film poster starring Ann-Margret and John Forsythe

I saw this movie for the first time recently, via MST3K, and since then Ann-Margret has moved to the top of my 60’s Fashion Icons list. Also recently moving up the list: Claudia Cardinale.
